Part 107
Drone Operator

Drone flying is a hobby for most, but for some it´s a profession, and that requires training and certifying.

Drone flying is a fast-growing branch of aviation, and as such, in order to professionally and commercially fly one, federal training and licensing is required for the safety of our airspaces.

The Pilot Institute offers the best and most comprehensive FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone course, designed to teach the student every aspect and requirement to safely fly a drone in an airspace. The best part of Part 107 is that you do not need prior experience, and almost everyone can become commercial drone pilot.

This course can be taken on mobile and desktop devices and includes over 200 video lessons adding up to 15 hours of instruction to make sure the student understands every aspect and requirement of operating a drone.

This course isn´t designed simply so that students can pass the FAA test.
Pilot Institute treats Drone Operations with the same focus and seriousness as it does with Private and Commercial flying.

The course overview is as follows:

  • Loading and Performance.

  • Regulations.

  • Airport Operations.

  • Radio Communications.

  • Airspace.

  • Charts.

  • Weather Theory.

  • Weather Services.

  • Aeronautical Decision Making (ADM).

  • Physiological Factors.

  • Maintenance and Inspection.

The FAA recommends 20 hours of studying and training to become a drone operator, and this course offers more than half of that, including over 300 practice questions and 20 quizzes.
Like every course taken through Pilot Institute, Part 107 also has lifetime access once signed up with the school.
